Squeak

Squeak is an open source license, highly-portable Smalltalk-80 implementation whose virtual machine is written entirely in Smalltalk, making it easy to debug, analyze, and change. The Squeak programming system comes with some delightful and powerful educational applets. As of March/04 there were no elementary or middle schools officially involved with this type of project. It is ideal for a teacher wanting to be trained so that s/he can then have an after-hours club. Since finantial expenditures are involved (after-school stipend) the Principal and the Campus Technology Team need to be involved. Contact Alan for more information.
