Swikis

Swikis are interactive web pages that act as electronic bulletin boards, allowing any browser to post messges to the Swiki.

Swikis run Comanche - an Open Source web server for Squeak that contains the server framework, which makes it possible to develop web applications entirely in Squeak, without the need to run an external web server. Swiki is a popular implementation of Ward Cunningham's WikiWikiWeb (Squeak + Wiki = Swiki). Swiki is often also called CoWeb, short for Collaborative Web-site.

Since Swikis run in the background of any Mac, PC or Linux computer, are very simple to set up and maintain, and can be viewed with any browser, they are a popular and convenient way to communicate internally at a campus via an electronic bulletin board.
